Thanks to their rescuers, these resilient puppies are now safe, healthy, and ready to find loving forever homes.
Lilo, the darker-colored female, is sweet, curious, and affectionate, while her brother, Stitch, is playful, intelligent, and eager to learn. Both puppies are recovering beautifully and have quickly shown just how smart and resilient they are.

At just 8 months old, Banjo has already been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She weighs about 40-45 pounds and appears to be a whippet-hound mix. What makes her truly special, though, is her heart — she’s affectionate, gentle, and eager to please. Though she has shown some separation anxiety, Banjo is blossoming into a more confident pup every day with patience and love.

Latte is a very sweet girl. Her foster mom reports that she gently takes treats with a soft mouth and gets along well with the 3 bigger dogs in the household. Latte loves belly rubs. She walks great on the leash and is quickly learning recall. She waits patiently to have her kennel door opened and she is 90% housetrained.

Hera has been waiting almost 3 years for her forever home.
Hera (affectionately known as Momma) came into the KARES foster program after wandering Hawaiian Acres for weeks—skin and bones, covered in fleas, with no microchip and no one looking for her. From the moment she was secured, she showed quiet resilience and a gentle, loving spirit.
Now approximately 60 lbs and 3–4 years old, Hera is spayed, heartworm-negative, and healthy. She has come so far from the fragile dog she once was and has blossomed into a sweet, goofy girl with a wonderful smile and happy pitter-patter feet when she’s excited. Peanut butter treats and ear scratches are high on her list of favorite things.
Hera is smart, eager to please, and content with daily exercise. She loves people and has yet to meet a stranger she doesn’t like. She does need some leash work, as she’s very curious about the world around her and likes to pull to explore—but with consistency and guidance, she has the potential to do very well.
Hera is not good with cats or chickens, so a pet-free or dog-only home would be best.
Unfortunately, Hera’s current foster situation is no longer ideal due to health and mobility challenges, and she will need a new foster or, ideally, a forever home.
