KARES relies solely on the generosity of the community for all operational expenses. Monetary donations, as well as goods, services, and volunteers, are always needed to continue our efforts to help our homeless animal friends.
We rescue and relocate hundreds of dogs a year. The daily care of such a large community, spaying and neutering, medical treatments, and all the other services provided by our organization are a major expense. Just the veterinary bills can run to thousands of dollars a month.

The mission of Kohala Animal Relocation and Education Service (KARES) is to rescue and relocate abused, abandoned and stray domestic animals, to provide temporary housing for them through our foster care network and to facilitate adoptions into caring permanent homes.

One way to express your love or honor a family member, friend or a pet is with a Gift from the Heart. Your honor gift will immediately go toward our life-saving work giving hope to animals needing a second chance.
Once we receive your donation we will send you an email with instructions on how to submit a photograph of your beloved human or pet to be posted on our site. KARES will send an acknowlegement to you or your loved one.
