Rescue of Big Island Goat trapped on Cliff for Days

WE GOT HER! Watch Channel 2 KHON NEWS at 6:00 and 10:00 today, Sunday, to see the daring, heroic rescue.

She is in good health and good hands. Dr. Hamilton at Veterinary Associates will be caring for her. For now she is drinking, eating and getting some much needed sleep.

Quick update...

It’s been a long day with a good outcome.

Our stranded goat is alive and in much better shape than expected. She may be expecting or as we say in Hawaii “hapai.”

Our fearless, professional team scaled down the cliff in hopes of rescuing her.

As they approached she was alerted and somewhat spooked causing her to start down the cliff towards the shore. Our team continued to maneuver in such a way as to guide her to low tide and the safety of the next gulch. It was getting dark and dangerous.

Tomorrow we will go back to see if she made it on her own. If not we will not abandoned her. We may need to start a

“Goat Fund Me!”
